The meaning behind the Northshore Lactation Connections logo summarizes our mission statement. Each colored circle represents factors that affect breastfeeding outcomes: hospital, maternal, and infant. The yellow shows how these factors overlap, and the white represents the IBCLC who has the knowledge and tools to help remedy those factors to move towards a successful 'lactation connection!' We strive to be a consistent source of information and support for breastfeeding families during this special time!
Kristian Billiot, IBCLC, RLC Hi! I am the proud owner of Northshore Lactation Connections. My passion for helping breastfeeding mothers was born through La Leche League. My local leader and the many friends I made through my La Leche League group, helped me through many breastfeeding challenges, such as relactation and how to parent a colicky infant. I became an accredited La Leche League Leader so that I could help moms and babies the same way I was helped. If it weren't for La Leche League my breastfeeding journey would have ended much sooner. I'm so very thankful I was able to nurse my kiddos until they self weaned. I became an IBCLC so that I could further my education into the clinical side of lactation and help breastfeeding dyads at a deeper level. I feel that my dual roles of IBCLC and La Leche League Leader gives me a unique blend of mom-to-mom support and clinical lactation knowledge. I chose to go into private practice so that I can spend plenty of time with my clients, not be rushed, and have time for thorough follow-up.
